Natural diversity
Tambopata National Reserve is a richly biodiverse destination, home to 648 bird species, 108 mammals, 103 reptiles, 323 fish, 1,200 butterfly varieties, 93 amphibians and 1,713 tree species. Habitats include palm swamps, clay licks, Brazil nut forests, terraces, riverine forests and pristine lakes.
Manu National Park is a Natural World Heritage Site and the core of a Biosphere Reserve. Its protected ecosystems span cold highlands above 4,000 meters to lowland rainforest, with jaguars, tapirs, more than 1,000 bird species and exceptional plant diversity.
